Attributes Readings (#3): The Love of God

WORSHIP LEADER: We believe that God is love, and that His love is revealed in His character, His works, and His ways with His people.

CONGREGATION: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. (Psalm 103:8)

WORSHIP LEADER: God’s love is not earned, but freely given; it is steadfast, faithful, and everlasting.

CONGREGATION: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. (Jeremiah 31:3)

WORSHIP LEADER: His love is displayed supremely in the giving of His Son for the salvation of the world.

CONGREGATION: God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

WORSHIP LEADER: God’s love works to cleanse, transform, and perfect us in holiness.

CONGREGATION: May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. (1 Thessalonians 3:12)

WORSHIP LEADER: In Christ, we are rooted and grounded in love, called to dwell in Him and to reflect His love to the world.

CONGREGATION: We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

WORSHIP LEADER: Nothing in all creation can separate God’s people from His love in Christ Jesus.

CONGREGATION: Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38–39)
